Music and Me

Hello everybody! I am Victor and I play soccer here at Converse University. I'm majoring in Accounting, and I want to become an accountant after graduating from Converse. I was born in the US (Atlanta, Georgia) but when I was 3 years old I moved to Mexico with my parents. I had most of my life living in Mexico and just two years ago I came back to the US but my parents stay in Mexico. I attended to Dorman High School here in South Carolina which means I am a commuter student.

The music has been part of my whole life as a listener. Since I was little I heard a lot of songs with my dad and his favorite groups. Now I have my own favorite groups, and I just listen to music in Spanish. Here I am going to show some of those songs that I like right now, mean something to me, and it doesn't work for me.

Here is a picture of me and my family. My Dad is behind, my Mom in front of me, and my brother next to my mom.

1-Music that I like right now.

Right now this is one of the songs that I like. It is a Spanish one and talks about love. I don't have a girlfriend but I still like this song. The sound goes slow and you feel that rhythm. This song came up in 2022 but whenever I listen it makes me want to sing it. I love the way the lyrics describe true love to someone. Describing some moments and how that makes you feel in love with a person.

2-Music that means something to me.

The music means a lot for me because you can express your feelings. I remember a lot of songs when I was a kid. This genre is called "Banda or Regional Mexicano". I used to listen to it with my dad. Some of this songs are pretty good. Every time I listen to some of these songs I remember when I was a kid. The next song is one that I remember a lot, and it makes me going back to those days and feel pretty happy.

3-Music that doesn't work for me.

This music doesn't work for me anymore. When I was a little kid it was a great song and I used to enjoy and maybe dance while it was playing on the TV. This song probably no one listens to anymore because the show is a little bit old. I know most of the people here saw this show called "Barney and friends". It's a lot of songs in this program but this song is one that just works probably for kids when they are playing outside or in the house.

  1. Hi, Victor! I really enjoyed going through your blog! The song that was most interesting to me was "Calibre 50 - A La Antigüita." As I listened to it, I imagined a little boy with his dad and I think that is so sweet and wholesome. The song that I liked best was the first one! I am literally going to add it to my playlist right now! Thank you for sharing!!

  2. Wassup Victor, I really liked reading and listening to the things on your blog! I found the song "Calibre 50 - A La Antigüita" the most interesting, as I had never heard it before, and it brings me back to older Mexican music I have listened to. I found the song "Labios De Cereza" as my favorite because it is something that I see myself listening to. I like how the songs you chose have a more chill and meaningful touch to them, which is more in line with my style.
