Music & Traditions

The Music is always part in our lives. You can listen some music and make a great memory from that moment. For me there is a lot of different moment that I have been related with a song so every time a listen that song I remember that song. There is two song that I'm going to talk about it and one it's called "La Bachata" by Manuel Turizo, and the other one it's called "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran. These two songs were part of great moments in my life that I never will forget. Each time a heard the songs, it's make me be happy and nostalgic.

The first song "La Bachata" is a song that was playing in my cousin's XV, and I was one of the dancers of that party. Each time I heard the song it remind me that party and how much I enjoyed it. That was my first time and the only one me as a dancers for a quinceañeras. Also remind me each practice because I was in Mexico at that time. Whenever they practice here in USA I was doing FaceTime on my TV in Mexico and I tried to dance at the same time as them, so it was really hard but fun at the same time. The song really put back in those days, and I start remembering the whole experience that I had.

The next song called "Perfect" is a song that was played in my elementary in Mexico when I graduated. We did a little dance in the graduation like in partners. Whenever I listen the song I remember that day all my time in that elementary school. Most of my friends that I had it's from those days and I still communicate with them. This song means a lot for me, and it's nostalgic one for all the moments. Its a little bit of sadness each time a listen it because it was a great years in school.

These two songs mean a lot to me and the moments when the songs were played. Both remind me of me dancing but also everything that happened those days.

Thanks for your time and read this blog!

  1. Hi Victor, I loved the stories about your experiences with these two songs I was also a dancer in a quinceañeras and those dances are really hard to learn it took us many many practices to get it right. I am also a fan of Ed Sheeran although I don't have a memory behind it like you do.

  2. Hi Victor, it was so great to hear about your traditions and memories of these songs. The song Perfect is special to me too. It might be silly, but it was the song I had my first slow dance to with one of my lifelong friends. Whenever I hear it, it makes me remember the time and how simple life was when we were younger. Great job!

  4. Wassup Victor, I liked the songs that you chose. I relate to your second song "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran because I listened to it when I was growing up. I still listen to it now when I am listening to music in the shower.

  5. Heya, Victor! I find your experience as a quinceañera dancer to be awesome! I may have never attended a quinceñera myself, but I did attend a Chamorru fiesta, which doubled as my fifth birthday. It was a way to celebrate my birthday while introducing me to the culture for the first time. I also had both a similar and unsimilar experience when it comes to graduations. While my school graduation may not have had a partner dance, I did celebrate my senior graduation with a dance with my father, something we often do normally, but also for my achievements in general.
